HTR was originally developed in WordPress. However, Chris - HTR's CEO - wanted to incorporate a number of features that were difficult to implement under the current platform. WordPress is a very user-friendly, and it is fantastic for sites that don't need too many bells and whistles. However, Joomla gives the ability to add a lot of functionality through plug-ins that are not as easy to implement in the WordPress backend. We re-wrote the website on a Joomla backend so Chris can add all the functionality he wants.
